Researches and analyses technical, social, economic, environmental, institutional, and technology-related information, data, and statistics, and/or related policy issues to support the delivery of the program projects, products, and services.

Produces a variety of technical information, data, statistics, and reports as well as input for technical documents and web pages.

Provides technical support/analysis to various assessments, studies, and initiatives and provides technical backstopping to field projects.

Collaborates in the development of improved/updated tools, systems, processes, and databases.

Participates on multi-disciplinary teams, and/or leads workgroups/teams collaborate with other departments and agencies on workgroups and committees and promotes best practices.

Collaborates in, provides technical backstopping to and ensures the quality/effectiveness of capacity development activities within member companies such as policy support, organizational development and individual learning events including preparation of related information, learning materials, online tools.

Promotes knowledge sharing and best practices at international meetings and conferences and influences partners in stakeholder consultations.

Supports resource mobilization activities in accordance with the FAO Corporate strategy.

Supports vision and strategic thinking on animal production and health-related matters for the development and implementation of FAOs

programs of work, with a focus on sustainable agriculture and food systems, food security, and nutrition, resilience Supports the achievement of the SDGs and environmental and climate targets at all levels through technical support related to livestock development.

Provides support to member companies in implementing SEPCO Initiatives.

Performs other related duties as required Fishery Development Sector.

Providing technical advice to the Directors of the various departments on the wider subject of fisheries management Assist other ministry staff to prepare and implement work programs related to fisheries management.

Providing technical advice to fishermen to enable the fishermen to increase returns on investment through increased fish harvests Providing technical advice to potential investors on investment options available in the fisheries sector.

Advising fish processors and exporters on how to penetrate lucrative fish markets around the world.

Advising the Ministry of Fisheries and marine resources on the most effective direct fishery controls that can be enforced to protect overfished or threatened fish stocks.

Guiding the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources during the development of species-specific fishery management plans.

Advising the ministry and other stakeholders on development and marketing of value-added fish and fishery products.

In collaboration with the various Directors in the Ministry, support the establishment of an effective and efficient fisheries data collection, compilation and dissemination mechanism in order to generate and share data that can guide management decision-making. 

In collaboration with the various Directors, support the establishment of an effective fisheries monitoring, control, and surveillance strategy to stamp out all forms of illegal fishing


Advice the ministry on how to strengthen licensing as a means of granting fishing rights to fisherfolk and the mechanism for monitoring compliance with terms and conditions of issued licenses.

Conduct detailed analysis of scientific reports to provide and present simplified briefs.

Analyze and assess the impact of existing, new or proposed national and regional fisheries management measures and arrangements on fisher folk's interests.

Provide and coordinate training on responsible and sustainable fisheries management including delivering national fisheries management workshops.

Assist with the preparation and supervision of technical and feasibility studies and assist in the development of Terms of Reference for consultants and contractors.

Foster effective relations with other fisheries managers and key stakeholders through networking Farming Development Sector Closely work with other project staff for the development of effective and coherent weekly and monthly agriculture plans.

Ensure the implementation of the project cycle management and initiate innovative ideas to come up with a concept note.

Facilitate training farmers on drip irrigation system, GAPs, plant protection, agro-processing and marketing, application of pesticides, and compost preparation.

Develop field reports on a weekly and monthly basis and share them with the Agriculture Development Coordinator.

Support farmers on crop selection, modern farming, and installation of drip irrigation, selection of new farmers in the demo plots and identification of individual farmers.

Provide technical support on plant protection, introduce GAPs and organize farmers into groups. 

Initiate organic pest control measures and introduce to farmers to combat invasive pests and plant diseases.

Provide technical guidance and actual demonstration on the latest technology related to agriculture and teach ways they can take advantage of such technologies.

Regularly organize community meetings to promote collective understanding and build the capacity of farmers.

Industrial Development Sector Outlining the economic profile of various districts/areas in the immediate vicinity of each industrial node.

Accounting for potential foreign investors and multinational companies in assessing future growth trends, and identifying their concerns and expectations from the node.

Identifying key factors that would influence investment in the industrial nodes including advantages and disadvantages of proposed sites as well as competing sites within the Nodes.

Preparing suitable product/activity mix for the delineated zones within the nodes and assessing likely investment potential of the delineated zone to activate local commerce and enhance global investments in the region.

Determining the product mix for the processing and non-processing areas of the industrial node taking into account the land requirement.

Assessing export-oriented industries which can be located in the country.
